My name is Jeanine, and I love people.

I love the stories that come out when we have time to really talk. How did you get into your career? What made you start that business? What are you passionate about, and what really blows your bangs back?

My background is in learning and development, training, and career coaching. Over 25 years in corporate America, connecting with people and helping them discover possibilities became some of the most meaningful parts of my work. In 2024, I stepped away to make more room for the work and life I wanted to create. My, how those plans have changed!

The idea for The Journeys & Joy Show began while I was writing my memoir. Thinking about my own experiences reminded me how much each of us carries: stories, turning points, and things we’ve learned that someone else might need to hear.

So I started asking questions and inviting people to share.

The conversations are growing.

Season 1 explored people’s lives, careers, and the experiences that shaped them. I’m still curious about all of that.

As I prepare for Season 2, I’m bringing more of my own story into the conversation, including my faith and my journey with Jesus.

I’ll also be asking guests about theirs, alongside the work they do, the changes they’ve navigated, and what they’re learning along the way.

Joy belongs in these conversations, too. I experience it in everyday life, even when there are hard things happening. I want to hear where other people find it, what makes them laugh, and what they’re grateful for right in the middle of whatever they’re living through.

A little about life right now.

My husband, Ben, and I are preparing to sell our Oregon home and move across the country with our dog, Sherman.

I’m a gardener, an aspiring memoirist, and an all-around curious creative, so there’s usually something growing, something being written, or another idea taking shape.

I’m gradually gathering my work over at JeanineMarie.com, where the podcast will join my writing and home and garden stories from Rhode Abode.
